Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect only what we need to review your loan. We don't sell your data and we don't share it with third parties for marketing. To read your document we send it to an outside service, which processes it under its own privacy terms. Klearterms does not retain the original after processing, and saves only the six extracted figures.

What we collect

• Loan documents you upload: Read once to extract the six Truth in Lending figures, and not kept afterwards.
• Loan details you enter: APR, loan amount, term length, and payment amounts you provide manually.
• Income information: The after-tax monthly income and monthly expenses you enter. These are used to calculate the affordability ratio and are saved with the review, so they are there when you reopen it.
• Account information: If you create an account, we use your email and password to secure your account. Contact us if you cannot access it.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal information to anyone
• We don't share your data with advertisers
• We don't use your financial information for any purpose other than providing our service
• We don't keep your uploaded document after the review is built

Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your session. We may use basic analytics to understand how people use the site so we can improve it. We don't use tracking for advertising purposes.

How we process your documents

When you upload a loan document, here's exactly what happens:

• Your document is sent to an outside service to extract the loan numbers (APR, payment amounts, and the rest of the disclosed six)
• That service processes the document under its own privacy terms. We do not tell you what it keeps or for how long, because that is not ours to state.
• We only save the extracted loan numbers — not your document, not your name, not your personal details
• Klearterms does not retain the original after processing

Third-party services

We use third-party services to operate:

• An email service, which receives your address to send beta-access links and service mail
• A document-processing service, which reads the figures out of an uploaded document
• A payment processor, if you buy a review

Each processes your data under its own privacy terms. We describe what we do with your data, not what they do with it.

Your rights

You can request to delete your account and associated data at any time. Just contact us and we'll take care of it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
